FAB Academy aims to provide the best opportunities and career
progression for today’s talented footballers. We stress the importance of continuing education and gaining academic qualifications, whilst
making the most of our outstanding football scheme and facilities.
At FAB Academy we enrol our scholars at Charters School Specialist Sports College in Ascot. This hugely over-subscribed ‘outstanding’ (Ofsted 2009) secondary school and 6th form boasts annual results competing with the top 10% in the country. Charters give us their full support in the deliverance and monitoring of our education programme.
The course we deliver is the highest level BTEC course in sport. The
pupils complete this coursework-based syllabus over two years, and
leave FAB Academy with a qualification worth the equivalent of 3
A-levels. Pupils experience the more vocational side of the sports and
leisure industry with a variety of different units being assessed, and is
delivered in innovative, interactive ways to make the course both
enjoyable and very effective for pupil learning.
The pupils work through the units attaining a pass, merit or
distinction. We wholly expect every pupil on the course to achieve
a pass, whilst drawing out the best in them to thrive towards
distinction level.
The BTEC Level 3 Extended National Diploma in Sport allows the
scholars to study their area of interest, and leave the Academy with
Level 1 and 2 FA coaching certificates, and the academic
qualifications to move on to higher education if they wish.
We also run a tutoring programme for International students based
upon their current level of English. This can run in conjunction with
the BTEC course, or independently if the current level of English is
particularly low. The fee for EAL tutoring is based upon assessment
results and their required level of support.
We also offer additional subject learning opportunities upon request,
all enquiries are welcome.
